Civil War Swords

Swords and sabres were among the standard issue weapons to soldiers in the years of 1861 to 1865 when America was viciously divided between the Northern and Southern states.  The southern confederate swords were designed with ornate hand guards and some were engraved.  Most of them were designed as an upturned saber, or even scimitar style sword, while others maintained the straight design similar to European Court Swords.  Every design carried pride and detailing.  The northern states designed swords that increased with beauty depending on what rank officer was carrying the weapon.  The highest ranking officers had the most ornate swords that were worn as dress swords with honor and passed down through generations.

Calvary Swords

The U.S. Calvary Sword was used mostly as a weapon to slash at infantry that were trying to pull them off their horses.  They were generally designed with no tip for stabbing, but with a sharp cutting area that went all the way down to the handguard.

Marine Swords

Marine swords are the oldest weapon still in service by the United States Armed Forces.  It is a piece of American heritage that is embedded with pride and honor.  A Marine will never allow his sword to rust.  The swords signify the Marine Corps heritage as America's original protectors.
