Blackjack Knives (aka. Knifeware, Inc.) is unconnected with any other knife industry company and was incorporated in 1998 by Ken Warner, a veteran writer and editor in the fields of sporting arms and sporting cutlery.

He was among the very earliest of serious commentators on American sports knives and their makers and has continued in that role for 35 years, writing early in Gun Digest and later in the annual publication Knives, which he designed, edited and produced for DBI Books from Knives 81 to Knives 2000.
