Your article brings back a lot of memories of my childhood many, many years ago. Growing up on a farm a pocket knife in your pocket was as common as a tick on the dog! I was 7 or 8 when my dad gave me my first pocket knife, however before that I was thought all the safe ways to handle a knife. One of the things both my dad and mom emphasized over and over was to keep my knives clean and sharp! Because with a dull knife you are more apt to be hurt than with a sharp pocket knife.
